This book offers a unique perspective on the life and roots of Milan Rastislav Štefánik – a towering Slovak figure whose legacy continues to resonate deeply in the national memory. Through tender recollections of his mother, family, childhood, and youth, readers are invited to discover the profoundly human side of this legendary personality. The storytelling is gentle, almost old-world in tone, yet thoughtfully grounded in its historical context. Far more than just a glimpse into the environment that shaped Štefánik, the book also prompts reflection on the importance of understanding our own roots. It is intended for all who wish to grasp what shaped Štefánik into the man he became – and why his story must not be forgotten. The book was prepared in our studio for the people of Košariská, Štefánik’s native village.
